The Bengeo Club was once known as the Bengeo Working Men's Club and therefore all bowls members were men - hence these old images of men of a certain age in blazers - but that has now changed, things are much less formal (see above) and the club is open to all. Membership of the Bowls Section is now approximately 50/50 men and women. It is Hertfordshire's Oldest Club and will celebrate 150 years of playing bowls in 2028. The club now prides itself on its diversity and its place in the Bengeo community.
